David is an Irish-German, American-born director/producer. He grew up in Durham, NC as a basketball player, playing under Coach K for one year at Duke before leaving the team to make films and write poetry. David has co-produced and co-directed alongside two Emmy-award winning filmmakers, most recently directing/producing the acclaimed PBS mini-series on Durham’s local food scene, "Food Town," and the Complex Networks series, "Road to Raceway," a coproduction with Film 45 (executive produced by Peter Berg). David has also produced numerous award-winning documentary shorts.

David graduated from Duke University, with a focus on Visual & Media Studies. He was honored with Duke University's Benenson Award in the Arts, as well as the Duke University Center for Documentary Studies’ Julia Harper Day Award.
